Bio

Jay began riding at the age of 4 at his parents farm in Edmonton, Alberta. His father, Fred Duke,  has won the Canadian Cutting Horse Championship 4 times as well as the Canadian Calf Roping Championship. In 2001 he was inducted into the Canadian Cutting Horse Hall of Fame. Jay’s mother, Cheryl Anderson, attended a famous riding school in Ireland and has a long list of students who have been successful in the show jumping world. One of her better known students is Mark Laskin, Canada’s current Co- Chef D’equipe of the Canadian Show Jumping Team.

Jay began competing at Spruce Meadows at the age of 8 and went on to a very successful junior career. He went on to win the Canadian Junior Hunter Championship 3 times and the Canadian Junior Jumper Championship in 1987.  Jay was also part of the bronze medal team for Alberta at the NAYRC in Virginia. Currently Jay resides in Calgary with his wife Lisa Duke and their 4 children, Zachary, Mackenna, Karter, and Halle.
